U.S. BANKRUPTCY COURT RENOVATIONS, ROBERT H. JACKSON FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, Buffalo, NY
Project Overview
NKB was retained by GSA to provide complete design services, bid period services, and construction administration (PCCS) for alterations to U.S. Court spaces at the Robert H. Jackson Courthouse. The project included alterations to the existing probation suite, mail room, the clerk’s offices, the courtroom area, IT and HR offices, training room and ancillary judge chamber spaces.
The intent of this renovation was to reorganize portions of the interior space and provide programmatic adjustments to improve government personnel and visitor activities within the building.
The plan for the space included a reduction of the quantity of closed offices to provide more open workstations. Private offices were designed with a mixture of solid and frosted glass modular wall partitions to allow for both openness and privacy, as well as planning for future reorganization possibilities. To foster collaboration small meeting spaces, larger conference rooms and a new employee break room were included within the space.
